Age
1. Exhibitors must be Michigan 4-H members aged 8-19 as of January 1 to participate in the show.
2. Youth ages 5-7 years of age as of January 1 must participate in the Cloverbud Division.
Cat Project Guidelines:
1. Each Exhibitor may show only his/her kitten/cat or the family kitten/cat, an exhibitor can show up to two kittens/cats in the cat show.
2. To be eligible the kitten/cat must be in the exhibitor’s possession or born by March 1st of the year it is shown. The project must be cared for and fed by the exhibitor and/or immediate family member
3. Youth may show a purebred kitten/cat or a household kitten/cat
4. Class Definitions: Cat: Older than 12 months on the date of the show Kitten: 4-12 months old on the date of the show Purebred: conforms to the standard of the breed-registration papers Are Not Required Household: Mixed Breed
5. Long Hair kittens/cats will be those with hair longer than 1Inch over 50 percent or more of their body. Short haired kittens/cats will be those with hair shorter than 1 Inch over 50 percent or more of their body. Judge may excuse kitten/cat they deem not eligible for the class by virtue of coat length.
6. All Kittens/Cats must be current on vaccines for: Distemper/Calias/Rhinotrach(Feline 3 in 1) and Rabies. All entries must have a history of Negative FIV/Leukemia Test. The Feline Leukemia vaccine is highly recommended especially for Cats that are not allowed outdoors. NO FELINE LEUKEMIA POSITIVE KITTENS/CATS ARE ALLOWED TO SHOW AT THE FAIR. Rabies vaccine MUST BE administered by a licensed veterinarian. Feline 3-in1 can be given by a veterinarian or can be given by the exhibitor. If the exhibitor gives the 3-in-1 vaccine on their own the following proof must be given: documentation including date of Purchase, Receipt, and Bottle Labels providing Inoculation. Exhibitor must include proof that the vaccines were given by attaching them to the registration from that is to be turned in by June 15, 2015.
7. Kittens/Cats are to be brought to the fair in a well-ventilated carrier suitable to the size of the Kitten/Cat on the day of the judging. Kittens/Cats in arms or unsuitable housing will be disqualified. Kittens/Cats are to be shown and taken home on that same day.
8. Animals must be able to be shown/handled by youth member on a leash and a harness properly fitted to the kitten/cat. Kittens/Cats must be on leash and harness at all times when out of the carrier. An Identification tag must be on the Kittens/Cats harness and or collar (this may be a homemade tag it need not be purchased). Identification tag must include: Kittens/Cats Name, and the Name and Phone Number of the Owner (this is a safety precaution in case a Kitten/Cat gets Loose).
9. Exhibitors MUST be present while judging takes place.
10. All Kittens/Cats must have nails clipped or be declawed for the safety of the exhibitors and the Judge. (Note this is a youth show, it is a disqualification at some car shows to have your cat declawed).
11. A Kitten/Cat will be marked down if any of the following are found by the Judge: A. Knots in the hair B. Ear Mites, Fleas or Lice 46 C. Unhealthy or Unthrifty General Appearance
12. Judging will include: A. General Appearance and Condition B. Temperament and Proper Handling C. Hair Coat, Paws, Nails and Body Build
13. Showmanship is required to show in regular classes.
14. Project Book is REQUIRED
15. Dress Code: Flat toed shoes, Green 4-H Polo Shirt and Khaki or Black Pants. Lab Coats are encouraged to prevent injury to arms. Long hair should be tied back and appearance neat. Jewelry is discouraged. Nail polish should not be used.
16. Exhibitors are encouraged to bring carpet square for their Kitten/Cat to rest on during breed class.
17. Kitten/Cat product will be judged on creativity, originality, workmanship and the exhibitor’s product design created by them. Scoring occurs in the following categories, originality, workmanship, exhibitor participation, business plan, financials, promotion, interview, and age consideration.
18. Carrier decoration will be judged on: creativity, originality, and the exhibitor’s description of how decorations were designed and created. Kitten/Cat should be included in the carrier decoration design (exhibitors must make sure Kitten/Cat is safe). Exhibitors may dress up as well to add to the design.
19. Poster with oral presentation is different from the Cat Product. The Poster/Presentation may be on any – Kitten/Cat item that the exhibitor choses. Poster should be on Poster Board or Tri-fold Poster Board.
20. A High Point Trophy will be awarded to the highest combined total scores in showmanship, Breed Class, Kitten/Cat Product and Poster with Oral Presentation Class. Ties will be based on Showmanhip Placement.
21. A special feline PURRSONALITY Award will be given to the Kitten/Cat with the Best Feline Personality per the Judge’s Discretion.
22. Any Overly Aggressive Kitten/Cat may be excused from the Show per the JUDGES Digression.
23. All Kittens/Cats shown must be domestic origin. NO KITTENS/CATS of NON-Domestic origin may be shown.
24. NO PREGNANT and/or NURSING CATS ALLOWED TO BE SHOWN.
25. Club Clowder is to consist of 3 Kittens/Cats Shown by 3 different Members of the Same Club. 26. Cattitude is a Fun Agility course made up of easy obstacles for cats. It will be judged on ability to do the Obstacle and time.

1. Entry Fee $3.00 Per Class per Kitten/Cat Required.

5. 1 st -5 th place Ribbons in all Classes, Prizes for Championships.
6. You may enter as may Kittens/Cats per class as you would like (Vaccines records again will need to Be provided for each Kitten/Cat entered)
7. Any Youth who showed a Kitten/Cat in any of the Breed Classes in the Youth Show many NOT show that same Kitten/Cat in any of the breed Classes in the Open Show. They may however show that same Kitten/Cat in any of the other classes in the offered and may show any other(s) Kittens/ Cats in the Breed Classes offered.
8. Any Overly Aggressive Kitten/Cat may be disqualified per the JUDGE.
9. Kittens/Cats Must be of the DOMESTIC background NO Kittens/Cats with any NON-DOMESTIC background will be allowed to show.
